Committee & Board Postitions

It’s time to elect new Board and Committee members for the 2025–2026 rowing season.

Open Board Positions

Each year, we elect the following Board roles. Positions may be shared.

  • President
    Leads the club and board meetings. Makes sure SBRC follows rules (bylaws, US Rowing, VASRA). Recommends head coach candidates. Gives an annual report. Handles other duties as needed.

  • Vice President
    Steps in when the President is unavailable. Helps organize events and support committees. Works closely with new/novice families. May lead the Conduct Board if asked.

  • Treasurers (2 positions)
    One handles payments and money. The other manages financial reports and filings. If we don’t have two, another board member will help review statements and records.

  • Secretary
    Takes meeting notes and keeps them organized. Helps with writing documents. Sends out notices and keeps files like bylaws, rosters, and nonprofit documents.

How the Election Works

  • Use the form to nominate yourself or another parent.

  • We will contact all nominees to confirm interest before they appear on the ballot.

  • Voting will happen at the June parent meeting (date TBD).

  • 🛑 Nominations close May 31st so we have time to prepare the ballot.

Committee Chair Roles

These positions support the team in key areas. If you’re interested or know someone who would be a good fit, please nominate them!

  • VASRA Rep
    Attends VASRA meetings and represents SBRC. May join the board as a tie-breaking vote.

  • Stotesbury Chair
    Plans everything related to the Stotesbury Regatta.

  • Communications Chair
    Manages email, social media, team calendar, and website updates.

  • Hospitality Chair
    Organizes food, drinks, and supplies for regattas and team events.

  • Fundraising Chair
    Leads fundraisers like Flamingo Flocking, Erg-a-thon, spirit nights, and booster events. Updates donor/sponsor flyers.

  • Spirit Wear & Uniforms Chair
    Coordinates seasonal spirit wear sales and team uniform orders.

  • Technology/Website Chair
    Maintains the SBrowing.org website and Google Workspace tools.

  • Transportation Chair
    Coordinates trailer logistics for boat transport (doesn't have to drive them).

  • Registration Chair
    Manages registration for spring season, winter training, and other events.
