FALL Rowing PROGRAMS

Fall Rowing Opportunities – 2025

While SBRC is not officially affiliated with any specific Fall rowing program for the 2025 season, we are proud to have athletes participating in the following programs. We encourage each rower to review the details and choose the program that best fits their goals, schedule, and experience level.

Loudoun Rowing Association – 2025 Fall Rowing Program

Dates:

  • Elite Tryouts: August 4–5

  • Season: August 4 or 18 – October 27 (depending on track)

Tracks Offered:

  • Elite – By tryout selection, male & female boats, extra practice days

  • Athlete – Returning rowers

  • Novice – New to rowing

Practice Schedule:

  • Elite: Mon–Thu (Sat TBD), 5:00–8:00pm (ends earlier as days shorten)

  • Athlete & Novice: Mon, Wed, Thu, 5:00–8:00pm

Regattas:

  • Sept 13 – Friendship Regatta – All

  • Sept 20 – Head of the Anacostia – Elite only

  • Oct 4–5 – Head of the Ohio – Elite only

  • Oct 5 – Occoquan Challenge – Athlete & Novice

  • Oct 12 – Occoquan Chase – All

  • Oct 25–26 – Head of the Schuylkill – All

Fees:

  • $750 registration fee

  • Additional travel costs for away regattas

Full Details & Registration

Maverick Rowing Center – Fall Rowing

Dates: September – November (10 weeks)

Locations & Schedules:

  • Maverick Rowing Center (Indoor Training):

    • Wed & Fri:

      • Morning: 7:00–8:15am

      • Afternoon: 4:45–6:00pm or 6:15–7:30pm

  • Algonkian Regional Park (Outdoor Training):

    • Mon, Tue, Thu: 5:00–7:00pm

    • Experienced crews: 46 rowers/session

    • Novice crews: 28 rowers/session

Requirements:

  • Prior racing experience for experienced track

  • All rowers must pass VASRA swim test

Other Info:

  • Includes regatta fees & uniform

  • Indoor training available for weather/water issues

  • Reservations required
